Playback equipment Hire | AV Hire

At any event there is usually a requirement for audio playback whether it be background music, audio for a video presentation, backing tracks for a vocalist or just a good old disco.

There are a number of playback options available when you wish to play audio at your event.

These include:
  • Hire CD players
  • Hire record decks
  • Hire Laptops connection
  • MP3 player connection

CD players

Professional standard hire CD players will be available from the majority of audio visual hire companies available in single or twin CD format.

Twin format CD players allow two CDs to be played concurrently and if a DJ mixer is in use the tracks can be mixed together.

Consideration when hiring a CD player include:

Audio File Type - If you are using MP3 formatted CDs check with your audio visual hire supplier that your chosen CD player has the capability to play this form of audio file.

Connection Type - Hire CD players will connect to the main PA system via RCA phono cables. If you require these cables check with your audio visual hire companies that they are supplied with the CD player.

Laptops

High quality laptop computers can be hired to supplement an existing network or to facilitate your IT requirements in an event venue with no computers available.

Hire laptops can also be used for effective audio playback either via their inbuilt CD/DVD drive or by playing audio files with programmes such as Windows Media Player or iTunes.

When hiring or using a laptop for audio playback purposes the following aspects should be considered:

AC hum - When connected to a mains power supply laptops can earth through the PA system resulting in obtrusive background noise. A device such as the Behringer Hum Destroyer is required to prevent this from occurring.

Connection Type - Laptops are connected to the PA system using an RCA phono cable with a 3.5mm stereo jack. Check with your audio visual hire companies that they can be supplied with the laptop or PA system.
