Connecting directly to data sources such as laptops or DVD players, there is a data projector available to provide high quality digital images for virtually any venue irrespective of size or ambient light levels
Data projectors are available in a variety of sizes to suit any kind of event. From small meetings to full scale corporate events there is a data projector available to cater for your display requirements.
Data projectors are differentiated by the following performance factors:
· Brightness – measured in ANSI Lumens. The higher the lumen rating the brighter the projector and as such the more suitable it is for venues with high levels of natural light
· Resolution – Describes the number of pixels the projector is capable of displaying. The greater the number of pixels the sharper the projected image. Commonly seen resolutions are SVGA (800 x 600 pixels) and XGA (1024 x 768 pixels).
· Contrast ratio – Describes the ability of the projector to block out the lamp light. This translates into the depth of black projected on the screen.
Large range data projectors are suitable for the following event types:

Outdoor events |
Data projectors for this size of event generally display the following features:
Lumen rating - Large event data projectors can have a lumen rating of 4000 ANSI lumens (suitable for larger indoor events) up to 20,000 lumens or above (more suited to outdoor events). Discuss your particular event requirements with your AV hire supplier to ensure the most appropriate is provided.
Connectivity - Data projectors allow c
onnection from a variety of data sources including HDMI, VGA, and USB which allows connection from data sources such as DVD players and laptop computers. Some models include audio input and speaker output capabilities
Considerations that should be taken into account when deciding on the most appropriate data projector to hire:

Audience size – The larger the audience the more powerful the data projector should be. Projectors for large auditoriums have high lumen ratings to ensure large audiences can be effectively catered for. Discuss your event with your AV specialist to allow them to recommend the most appropriate projector for your requirements.

Throw distance – Projectors vary in terms of their ability to project a clear image over certain distances. Large data projectors will have very long throw capabilities producing excellent image quality over long distances. Inform your data projector supplier of the distance you intend to project over and the size screen you wish to fill.
Light levels – Data projectors with a lumen rating of over 4000 lumens are capable of operating in venues with higher ambient light levels but as with any projector better results will be achieved the darker the event room.
