PAR cans are the traditional hire lighting units that are predominantly used to illuminate stages with a wash of white or coloured light. They are available with traditional bubs and more recently with LED capabilities.
White & colour lighting - Traditional PAR cans naturally emit white light but by use of coloured gels a variety of colours can be generated. As such stage lighting displays can be customised to complement your event or company colour scheme.
Dimming available - PAR cans use dimmer packs which are supplied seperately or LED technology to allow the lights to be dimmed. This increases their functionality and allows them to be effectively adjusted to suit the mood of the event and complement the performance.
DMX or stand alone functionality - Both traditional and LED PAR cans can set up to work with DMX lighting control desks or with sound to light digital controllers. You may want to decide on the most appropriate control method depending on your availabel budget.
LED or traditional bulb - There are benefits to using both types of PAR can for example traditional PAR cans have a more natural dimming capability whereas LED PAR cans emit less heat and use less electricity. Discuss your particular lighting requirements with your lighting hire supplier.
Dimmer packs - Traditional style PAR cans require dimmer packs if full functionality is required. Be aware that dimmer packs may be charged as an additional expense and that you may need to to take this into account in your event budget.|
